FRISCO WAS FANTASTIC! GEAR UP FOR SCOTLAND!

To say that the San Francisco Board Meeting was great is simply an understatement. President John Henebry, who hosted a very successful meeting in Atlanta in 1998, has once again proved his planning expertise. We’re still trying to figure out how he managed to get us into Tommy Toys on a Saturday night and a solidly booked Clift Hotel.

Anyone who has ever been involved in setting up a meeting knows the hard work it takes to make it go smoothly and within budget. John does both and makes it look easy. Speaking on behalf of all those who attended… Thank you John.

Much was accomplished at the Board Meeting under the leadership of Chairman Winston Gregory… The future of WIN is in good hands and looking brighter every day. New members are continuing to come in, due in part to our Area Governors. Enthusiasm and dedication are at an all time high and most important... finances are determined to be in great shape. A very proud Treasurer, John Slagowski, presented WIN with a check in excess of $3,300. Which represents his profit, as “Host” of the Washington, DC Conference. Congratulations on a job well done!

Special thanks go out to “Des” and Pam Desvernine. Des, through his membership in the exclusive World Trade Club, made arrangements for our President’s lunch to be held there. The fine dining with a panoramic view of San Francisco Bay was made even more special by the “hand made” favors provided by Pam. She’s also the lady responsible for the information packets and lovely welcome gift baskets filled with treats. Des and Pam are very good examples of why I feel WIN members are special people. They didn’t ask what the association could do for them… they asked, “What can we do to be of help to the association.”

For those of you who couldn’t make San Francisco… mark your calendars for August 29th and make an effort to attend the 2000 Conference in Glasgow, Scotland. Conference Host, Tom Connell, presented his finalized arrangements to the Board … this looks to be great Conference!
